NEC's Malone-led Project Fintech, RevTech Labs at NY Fintech Week

PROJECT FINTECH of Nashville Entrepreneur Center plans to partner with Charlotte-based RevTech Labs Foundation for an April 22 fintech-insurtech founder-pitch showcase, featuring 10-20 startups from across the U.S. and Canada, all appearing during the Big Apple's New York Fintech Week.

According to information posted online, nonprofit RevTech Labs' other partners for the NYC event include the Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA), Tampa Bay Wave Center for Accelerating Financial Equity (CAFE) and the Morgan Stanley Inclusive Ventures Lab.

RevTech Labs is a 501(c)3 that prioritizes working with "early-stage, post-MVP, pre-Series A Fintech and Insurtech startups to maximize probability of success by creating broad networks of support."

RevTech Labs is aligned with Charlotte VC RevTech Labs Capital, which holds its next global Fintech-Insurtech Generations Conference in Charlotte, June 11-12.

The NEC's Project Fintech is led by Entrepreneur in Residence David Malone, whose previous fintech entrepreneurial experience was highlighted by his tour with Nashville's Confirmation.com, co-founded by Brian Fox, which sold to Thomson-Reuters.

ICBA's ICBA LIVE event convenes in Nashville March 11-13. Of the NYC event, ICBA says it has "has one mission: to create and promote an environment where community banks flourish. We power the potential of the nation's community banks through effective advocacy, education, and innovation. ​As local and trusted sources of credit, America's community banks leverage their relationship-based business model and innovative offerings to channel deposits into the neighborhoods they serve, creating jobs, fostering economic prosperity, and fueling their customers' financial goals and dreams."

ICBA is also listed among strategic advisors to JAM-FINTOP, which is an affiliate of both NYC-based Jacobs Asset Management and Nashville-based FINTOP Capital, led by Joe Maxwell.

Tampa Bay Wave's CAFE says it "is a leading force in inclusive finance, where fintech innovators, financial institutions, and industry leaders collaborate on transformative solutions that drive financial wellness for low- to moderate- income 'LMI' people. Our CAFE Accelerator offers a hands-on, immersive two month experience where U.S. founders with products in-market who are ready to scale gain direct exposure to financial institution customers, regulators, and investors to help them grow their businesses and impact."

Morgan Stanley Inclusive Ventures Lab (IVL) is an in-house startup accelerator that, according to its website, "promotes financial inclusion and provides access to capital for early-stage technology and technology-enabled companies." The IVL website adds, "Our mission is to create a more inclusive investment landscape. We provide a unique opportunity for disruptive startups to access capital, accelerate their business and increases their visibility."
