Council & Enhanced Tennessee Fund, LLC -- Formed by Co-Founders and Managing Partners Denny Bottorff and Katie Gambill, the general partners of Nashville-based Council Ventures LP. Council's operating partners include such prominent members as Charlie Martin and Luke Simons. Council partnered for TNInvestco with Enhanced Capital Partners, led by President Michael Korengold, who was deeply involved in the TNInvestco legislative process. Enhanced's chairman is Andy Paul, who has been active in healthcare venture capital investing for more than 20 years, including his earlier service with Welsh Carson Anderson & Stowe; and, earlier, Hambrecht & Quist. Bottorff and Gambill are, respectively, the former CEO of First American National Bank and later chairman of AmSouth; and, former president of Equitable Securities and SunTrust Equitable, where Gambill's focus for decades was healthcare and financial institutions. Bottorff is vice chairman of the Vanderbilt University Board of Trust. He earned his bachelor's in engineering at Vanderbilt, before securing his MBA at Northwestern. During an earlier stint on the board of Dollar General, Bottorff oversaw the sale of the company to Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. for $7 billion cash. Bottorff is on the boards of Council portfolio company Benefit Informatics, as well as the Tennessee Valley Authority and Ingram Industries. Gambill is a member of the Executive Council of the Harvard School of Public Health and an observer on the board of CV portfolio company Senior Health Holdings (Senior Whole Health).
