CEO Roy Matthews

Updated 21 Sept. 2012 0753: Agilum, the dba adopted in March 2012 by Anthem Healthcare Intelligence, reported to the SEC 20 September 2012 that it had raised $4.8MM against a USD 5.5m equity and options-based raise. Though not confirmed, this is likely an extension of the raise reported in our original story, 1 December 2011, which for technical reasons has been recreated below. Ron Marston was added to the list of persons associated with the raise. VNC has now confirmed that this is Ron Marston of HCCA International, a former president of HCAInternational. Our original 2011 story follows below. -Ed.

ANTHEM Healthcare Intelligence, the data-driven performance-analytics firm based in Franklin, reported yesterday a $4 million capital raise is underway, and listed NEST-TN founding partner Cameron Newton as among those associated with the round.

NEST-TN, a TNInvestco fund associated with Relevance Capital in Tullahoma, is also among investors announced today by Parental Health.

Six-year-old Anthem produces solutions for performance, revenue-cycle and other applications and its leaders include President/CEO Roy Matthews and VP-Product Management Walter Ogilvie, both of whom are named in yesterday's [Nov. 30, 2011] SEC filing.

Board member John Kopke is also named in the filing. He is chief technology officer of RedPrairie Corporation, a global supply-chain and retail solutions provider based in Atlanta and is a former Hyperion Solutions CTO.

The Anthem board also includes Philadelphia-based Rich Bendis, who runs a personal Angel-investing fund and Bendis Investment Group, which is allied with Fortress Investment Group (NYSE:FIG), according to Anthem's website.

Other members of Anthem's management include SVP-Operations Debbie Lyro; VP-Development Mike Caskey; VP-Sales Alan Shemelya; and, VP-Delivery and Support Prassad Yammanur, according to its website. Former employers of the management team include HCA, CHS, OrNda, Iasis, Ardent, St. Thomas Health System, Psychiatric Solutions, CCA, Nissan, Oracle and Deloitte & Touche, according to the site.

Efforts to reach Anthem and NEST-TN management thus far this morning have been unsuccessful.

Anthem's filing was the second this week related to local healthcare data ventures: Earlier, Digital Reasoning told the SEC of its apparent $7MM raise, as reported by here. VNC
