Jumpstart Foundry, the now-healthcare-centric accelerator based in Nashville, had 240 applicants for this year's 14-week endurance test -- and they picked nine (four of them from the Nashville area) -- including one Nashville company that isn't ready to show itself.
The startups are:
• Breathe: addressing asthma care. Nashville.
• Care.IT: online med-services. Spartanburg.
• CommunityHealthTV: for Black, Latino populations. New Orleans.
• Life Detection Systems: noncontact remote vital-signs monitoring. San Jose.
• Life-Links: Geriatric care management. Brentwood.
• Reemo (by wearables innovator Playtabase): Gesture-linked IoT device control for seniors. Minneapolis.
• ProHydration: IV hydration for amateur athletes. Nashville. Has reserved prohydration dot net.
• Vital Metrix: Cardiac output measurement. Huntsville.
• Stealth candidate (Nashville area): Maybe a minimally invasive social-media detox solution?
This first group since JSF's pivot to Healthcare, cohort companies could each receive up to $100K equity investment.
The JSF class' Demo Day is embedded in JSF's first Health:Further conference, Aug. 19-20. VNC
