Feb. 22nd: Mind2Marketplace spotlights Tennessee
regional accelerators for entrepreneurs

MIND2MARKETPLACE, Middle Tennessee's consortium for technology commercialization and entrepreneurship, is host for lunchtime presentations Wednesday (Feb. 22) from representatives of three of the region's business accelerators.

The three accelerators have been granted a total $750,000 by the State of Tennessee (ECD) to support the launch and acceleration of entrepreneurial businesses, including helping businesses find sources of outside capital investment. Six other accelerators around the state were also funded at $250K each.

Some seats for Wednesday's event remain available for the event, which begins promptly at 11:30 a.m. and includes lunch, at no charge for attendees. The meeting ends at 1 p.m.

Registration should be made as soon as possible. The presenters include:

Northern Middle Region - Nashville Entrepreneur Center (NEC) -- John Murdock, regional director and communications director, according to his Linkedin.

Southern Middle Tennessee Entrepreneur Centers (SMTEC) -- Brac Thoma and Candace Turnham. Thoma is president of Tullahoma Investment Funds, which includes among its clients two firms, OptiLogic and J2 Software, that have received funding from NEST-TN, the TNInvestco fund that also operates under the Reliance Capital umbrella, according to the Reliance website. Turnham is SMTEC's event coordinator, according to her Linkedin.

Upper Cumberland Region - Brad Fox, is project lead for the Jobs4UC Accelerator and an associate professor at Roane State Community College, according to information online. He is also business network coordinator for the Cumberland Business Incubator (CBI), in Crossville, according to information online.

LOCATION: The Feb. 22 luncheon meeting is to be held at Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce, 3rd Floor conference room, 3050 Medical Center Parkway, Murfreesboro (37129).
